Lapis Lazuli is a gemstone that consists of several different minerals. The stone consists mostly of blue lazurite but also of pyrite, calcite and sodalite. The mixture of minerals can be different, which makes each stone unique. It has been used for over 6000 years in different ways. For example to create the colour ultramarine used in paintings. Today the stone is mostly used in jewelry. Lapis Lazuli is mainly extracted from mines in Afghanistan, Chile and Russia. 

Clean Lapis Lazuli with a soft cloth as the stone is sensitive to many types of chemicals.
